Online Office Tools can help both patrons & librarians. The tools can create, edit, store & share
documents online so long as there is a computer & internet connection. Also they offer a free
way to get at tools that are not offered by the library system. Don't forget the green aspect
these tools produce paperless info.
Disadvantages, staff must be familiar w/ the tools so they can help patrons when needed.
Not really a disadvantage, but one more thing to learn or be trained in. This could present
a problem moneywise to a library. Could impact our disc sales.

Call me old fashion or unimaginative but I still like Microsoft Office Live Workspace
& Google Docs best. I felt lost in Zoho. I did find a great template forpreparing a
budget & a form that I could use to for a daily to do list. Anyone who knows me
would know that I'm not so good at budgeting or prioritizing. Yet we all have strengths
& weaknesses & collaboration makes so much sense.

I am still chugging along on Web 2.0. I've finally made it to Exploration 6.
Ironically just in time. Immediately after learning about online office tools
a coworker ask me to make him a calendar. I went online and made him
a couple of calendars in different styles so he had a choice. I'll be back, the
patrons are in need of help.

It's been so long since I blogged, I nearly had to relearn everything.
Life & work has been so busy I'm lucky to keep up w/ email. Everyday
something additional to learn or try, & I'm not so good at self teaching.
I'm an old dog & it's very difficult to learn new tricks. Why can't I just
win the MegaMillions? I'd hop on a plane & find white sand and an azure sea!

Musings
I've recently returned from a truly lovely beach. It was very relaxing. I read 4 books in 8 days.
Quite a feat for me. While away I seldom thought of my workplace. Funny, now that I am
working again I think of that beach or any beach most of the time. Nothing like putting one's toes in the warm sand to feel alive & fortunate. I found myself continually thanking my lucky stars
for the priviledge of my repast. Now at 50 weeks & counting, I don't think I will feel relaxed
for a very long time. The workplace is frought w/challenges--time management, correct
processes, personal dynamics. I hope for patience and tolerance for the ensuing weeks.
Also I hope to be able to keep up w/ all the new tasks & experiences coming my way.
I really don't want to be left behind unless it is on a warm, sunny beach many miles from here.
What keeps you going during the times of work (both favorable & trying) while you are building
up more time to rest and/or recharge?
